Our customer is engaged in directional drilling. Their task was made complex by a requirement for coolant not to be used during the drilling process. As well, the tool needed to be capable of being used in an urban environment. These requirements posed their own challenges in terms of design. And manufacturing.
The Technicut engineering team actively engaged with our customer to provide valuable design for manufacturing suggestions. Our discussions involved not only dimensional and geometry but also the support of complex supply chain solutions such as laser welding which we manage as a matter of course. As well, our internal EDM capabilities proved significant to solving the challenges of manufacturing this extremely complex component.
The end result? Technicut delivered a complex one piece drill to our customer where others could not or would not. We live our reputation as a solution provider for extremely complex machining every day.
